THE closing ceremony of the Kachin State Maha Thingyan festival and award-giving ceremony to Thingyan choral dance troupes were organized at Myitkyina Maha Thingyan Central Pandal yesterday.
Kachin
State Chief Minister U Khat Htein Nan and wife Daw Nann Saing, Northern Command
Commander Maj-Gen Myat Thet Oo and state ministers gave awards, certificates of
honour and cash prizes to the winners of the first, second, third including
special and fourth award winners out of seven Thingyan choral troupes who
competed with CDs songs, own tunes and Myanma Saing Waing (Orchestra).
Then,
one of the state ministers gave cash rewards to the judges and the
award-winners performed Thingyan dances.
Finally,
the Kachin State chief minister announced that the 1383 ME Myanmar traditional
Thingyan festival was concluded and welcomed the New Year, 1384 ME.
Afterwards,
the choral dance troupes entertained with Mann Taung Yeik Kho song and officials
concluded the event.
