THE commissioning ceremony of 125th Intake of the Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Bahtoo) was held yesterday morning at the commissioning hall of the training school.
Military Appointment-General Lt-Gen
Lin Aung, ViceChief of Armed Forces Training Maj-Gen Aung Myo Thant and
Commandant Brig-Gen Myo Zaw Win and cadets attended the commissioning ceremony.
Lt-Gen Lin Aung gave certificates of commission to each of the cadets.
The school was firstly opened in
PyinOoLwin Township in 1946 and conducted the cadet training courses from 1st
to 16th intakes. It was moved to Fort Bahtoo from PyinOoLwin Township in 1957
and opened the cadet training courses from 17th to 28th intakes. It was
temporarily suspended in 1961, and then it was moved to Hmawby from Fort Bahtoo
in 1963 and conducted the cadet training courses from 29th to 82nd intakes. It
was moved again to Bahtoo from Hmawby in 1991 and gave cadet training courses
from 83rd intake to the present, and many Tatmadaw officers came out of it.
At the present commissioning
ceremony, two hundred and four graduates were appointed as second lieutenants.
