THE Ministry of Commerce is overseeing the importation of essential medical supplies plus anti-COVID devices that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, through trading posts, international airports and seaports.
Anti-COVID-19 equipment was
imported by one company using three vehicles. A total of 20 tonnes of masks
were imported via the Chinshwehaw trade zone yesterday.
From 1 to 22 January, 20 tonnes of
liquid oxygen carried by one bowser, 1,100 empty oxygen tanks, one oxygen
generator, 942 oxygen concentrators, 35 tonnes of gloves and 90 tonnes of masks
were imported by 21 vehicles of 11 companies.
One bowser transported liquid
oxygen to Yangon from the Myawady trading zone.
Officials from the relevant
departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the standard operating
procedures, including online registration for the import process.
It is reported that the Ministry of
Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments and treatment of COVID-19 as
well as contact persons for inquires can be reached through the Ministry’s Website
