A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched Scania passenger bus near Milepost 81/6 of Mahletaung checkpoint, Kalein Aung Town, Yaybyu Township, on 20 January.
A
total of five kilogrammes of ice in the luggage of Thein Maung Soe, a passenger
in the vehicle, worth a total of K135million was seized at 1 pm that day.
Similarly,
Police searched bikers Aung Thiha and Ye Lin Tun (a) Ko Ye on Waibargi Road and
seized 2,000 stimulant tablets.
Next,
1,782 stimulant tablets were found in search of a motorcycle driven by Kyaphae
on the Tachilek-Mongsat Road, near Lwetawkham village, Lwetawkham
Village-tract, Tachilek Township at 4 pm on 19 January.
According
to the link, a further search of Manana’s home in Natali village, Lwetawkham
Village-tract, Tachilek Township, at 6 pm on the same day led to the
confiscation of another 630 stimulant tablets and they are being prosecuted
under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the
Police Force.
