Drugs seized in Myeik, Nawnghkio, Pathein and Hopong townships

 

 

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force made inspections in Kangyi Ward, Myeik Township at 10 am on 8 January.

A search of Yin Htay, a pedestrian on the strand road, turned up 50,000 stimulant pills in a plastic bag he was carrying, police force said. 

According to the link, Than Htoo Aung was arrested at 11:30 am during a search of Hotel Room No. 104 on Bandoola Road, Yaypon Quarter. 

According to the investigation, the combined team raided Tun Naing’s house in Kalwin village in Myeik Township at 2 pm, and seized 120,000 stimulant tablets and 2.72 kilograms of opium speciosa worth K510.136 million. 

Similarly, a motorcycle driven by Wai Phyo (a) Shorty and another motorcycle driven by Hla Tun and followed by Htun Lin Aung were stopped and inspected near Milestone No. 79/1 on Muse-Mandalay Road in Nawnghkio Township, at 12 noon on 8 January. 

A total of 66,000 stimulant tablets in Wai Phyo (a) Shorty’s backpack were seized and a search of house of Kyaw Zeyar Lin (a) Maung Kyaw (a) Hnokkhamhmwe at 1st Aung Chanthar Street, No. 6 Ward, Pathein, at 4 pm that day turned up 2,860 stimulant tablets. 

A search of the house of Sai Thant Zin (a) Tafis in Naungkaw village, Paunglin Village-tract, Hopong Township on the night of 7 January turned up 11,600 stimulant tablets, and they are being prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, according to the Police Force.
