The officials investigated to
arrest robbers and arrested Kyaw Kyaw Oo and Wai Phyo Hlaing who were assistant
supervisors of the bank from Yamethin Township and Than Zaw, deputy manager of
the branch bank, who participated in the case, in the evening of 26 November.
According to the confession of the
suspects, the police arrested Kyaw Soe Thein, phone serviceman, from Wartoe
Ward of Yamethin Township, who participated in the robbery case, at his home
while Kyaw Khaing Oo from Paukgon Village of Alegon Village-tract and Zaw Gyi
from Nyaung Pin Thar Village, who robbed in the bank, together with two
motorcycles and two knives used in the robbery, at the house of Zaw Gyi.
The suspect Kyaw Soe Thein admitted
that he kept the money at his aunt Daw Kyin Htay in Wartoe (East) Ward of
Yamethin Township with his younger brother driver Maung Toe (aka) Toe Toe of
Yamethin Township general administration department. Daw Kyin Htay and herdaughter Thandar Phway
(aka) Phway Phway accepted the money,and so they were arrested at 00:45 am on
26 November together with K101.5 million at their house while Maung Toe (aka) Toe
Toe was arrested with K5 million at his house located in Kyitawgon of Myoma
Ward at 4:45
am on 27 November.
The suspects also admitted that
they committed robbery as they need a lot of money for their gambling. Before
10 days of the robbery, the bank staff Than Zaw Ko, Kyaw Kyaw Oo, Wai Phyo
Hlaing, Kyaw Khine Oo who robbed in the bank, and plan maker Kyaw Soe Thein
arranged to rob the bank in advance like the three bank staff including Kyaw
Kyaw Oo will watch the money packaging, the situation of the bank, timer
including giving the sign. Then, Kaw Soe Thein and Kyaw Khine Oo will rob in
the bank.
Kyaw Khine Oo and Zaw Gyi kept the
money at Kyaw Soe Thein. Then, Kyaw Soe Thein transported the money to his aunt
Daw Khin Htay with his younger brother Maung Toe (aka) Toe Toe.
Daw Kyin Htay and her daughter
Thanda Phway (aka) Phway Phway were found guilty for accepting such money.
Due to the concerted efforts of the
combined security team, the robbery suspects were arrested together with the
money within 12 hours.
The suspects will face legal action under the law.
