DOCTORS and nurses from public hospitals, Tatmadaw medical teams, healthcare workers and volunteers are working hard to give COVID-19 vaccines in different states and regions as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.
COVID-19 vaccine is being given
daily to target groups regardless of race or religion including Buddhist monks
and nuns, local people over the age of 40, religious leaders, prisoners, people
with disabilities, ethnic armed groups, people with chronic diseases, people in
IDP camps and over 12-year-old students respectively.
Doctors and nurses from public
hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, relevant healthcare workers in
collaboration with volunteers have already given COVID-19 vaccines to 1,125
people from Kyaukme and Hsipaw townships, 6,710 people from six townships in
eastern Shan state, 17,804 local people and monks from 15 townships in Mon and
Kayin states, 5,790 people from three townships in Taninthayi region, 7,363
people from four townships in Yangon region, 30,871 people from 26 townships of
Ayeyawady region, 13,295 people from six townships in Chin and Rakhine states, 99,270
people from seven districts of Mandalay region and 182 people from Htantabin
township in Bago region, respectively.
Similarly, healthcare officials
gave the vaccines to 92 students from Mongpyin township, eastern Shan state,
17,808 students from 26 townships in the Ayeyawady region, 8,406 students from
townships from Rakhine and Chin states, 106 students from Hkamti township,
Sagaing region and 390 students from Htantabin township, Bago region.
It is reported that officials from the
respective Military Command Headquarters visited the site and coordinated the
Vaccination programme is underway in Maungtaw. necessary work.
