Minister for Planning,
Finance and Industry
U Win Shein met with the Director-General, Deputy Directors-General
and Directors at
the Customs Department
(Headquarters) yesterday morning
in Yangon.
At
the meeting, the
Union Minister intructed to abide
by the code of conduct, ethics, rules and regulation of
the civil servants
and to pay
special attention to the
spread of COVID-19 disease as the recurrence of COVID-19 is on the rise in some
neighbouring countries. He also added to pay special attention to the security
and the activities funded by the Union according to the financial procedures and to
take special care to prevent corruption.
The Union Minister inspected the operation
of the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance
System (MACCS).
Afterwards, he
arrived at the
Internal Revenue Department and met with the officials. During
the meeting, he said efforts are being
made in order
to revive the
economy under the COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP) in
response to the effects of the COVID-19 disease and collect
the total amount
of due taxes despite the
reduction in taxes due
to the COVID-19
outbreak.
He
instructed to facilitate the tax payment via online payment and to pay
special attention to the security and health as the COVID-19 virus
is likely to increase.
