Union Minister U Shwe Lay makes inspection tour to road and bridge constructions in Shan State

 


UNION  Minister  for  Construction U Shwe Lay, accompanied by  commander  of  the  Military  Operations  Command  Colonel  Thaw  Zin  Oo,  inspected  roads in  Monghsat  town  and  the  current  condition  of  the  Monghsat-Tachilek  section  and  the  paved  section  of  the  concrete  roadway on 26 April.

During the inspection tour, the Union Minister said the Monghsat-Tachilek road is an important connecting road to the border towns. The roads and bridges must be in good condition for the active flow of goods. He instructed them to widen the curves to make  it  safer  for  vehicles  and  erectdirectional warning signs according to the regulations as it  is  a  winding  mountain  road  and to provide roadside drainage systematically to prevent water from flowing into the road.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and party arrived at Tachilek and, along with the Tachilek District  Administration  Body’s  Chairman, inspected the No (2) Myanmar-Thailand  Friendship  Bridge.  The  officials  from  the  Bridge  Task  Force  (12)  of  the  Department of Bridge explained the  construction  of  bridges  on  the Tachilek detour,the availability of funds for each financial year  and  future  plans,  paving  of  the  detour  according  to  the  financial year and coordination of  land  issues  encountered  in  carrying out the work and projects  for  further  coordination  with landowners.

The Union Minister said the construction work of the bridge on  the  detour  road  in  Tachilek needs to focus on the timely completion  and  quality  of  the  part  of  the  bridge.  He  urged  them to submit to the Shan State Administration  Council  and  to  coordinate  regarding  the  land  compensation  issues  and  the  remaining  works  to  be  carried  out as per the specified road features. He also inspected the construction of the bridge and the condition of the detour.  MNA
