Consecration ceremony of Su Taung Pyae, Su Taung Ya pagodas held in Pyinmana

 

THE   ceremony   of   setting   atop  golden  umbrella,  pennant-shaped vane and diamond orb on Su Taung Pyae Pagoda and  Su  Taung  Ya  Pagoda  was  held  in  Pyinmana  Township  yesterday.

The Sanghas led by Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhi of Mingalar  Zeyon  Pali  Takatho  Monastery,  State  Administration  Council  member  Mahn  Nyein Maung, well-wishers, and locals attended the ceremony.

SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung,  well-wishers  and  attendees,  firstly  took  five  precepts from Presiding Sayadaw of Mingalar Zeyon Pali Takatho Monastery.

Then, the officials donated the golden umbrella crown, pennant-shaped vane and diamond orb to the Sayadaws and shared merits.

Next,  the  SAC  member  Mahn  Nyein  Maung  and  congregation  carried  the  sacred  objects in ceremonial clockwise procession.

The Sayadaws, SAC member and congregation, sprinkled the sacred objects with scented water and hoisted them to the top of the pagoda by a ceremonial flying carriage.

After  the  ceremony,  the  well-wishers donated day meals to the monks.

The Su Taung Pyae Pagoda was  one  of  the  84,000  pagodas  constructed by King Siri Dhamma Soka, and now it is a more than  1,560-year-old  pagoda.
