Senior General meets religious leaders, visits Bhamo cantonment of Northern Command in Myitkyina


COMMANDER-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Christian religious leaders of Myitkyina in Myitkyina yesterday morning and discussed regional stability, peace and development matters.

Present at the meeting alongside Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief were Commander-in-Chief (Navy), Commander-in-Chief (Air), high ranking officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) while pastor, minister and members from Kachin Baptist Convention Myitkyina and Roman Catholic Diocese of Myitkyina attended the meeting.
At the meeting matters relating to all organisations and entities providing support toward resettling conflict displaced persons in their places of origin, welcoming the 21 December 2018 announcement of the Tatmadaw to achieve peace and the status of requiring the support and participation of all in it, status of cooperation provided by Christian religious group leaders and status of assistant provided by Tatmadaw toward Kachin State development were cordially discussed.
After the meeting Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief presented commemorative gifts to pastor and minister of Kachin Baptist and Roman Catholic orngisations and took commemorative group photo.
Afterwards, Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met with officers, troops and families of Northern Command Bhamo cantonment and presented foods for the officers, troops and families while his wife presented cash supports to the maternal and child welfare association of the cantonment.
Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party went to Tatmadaw hospitals to encourage Tatmadaw personnel from Myitkyina and Bhamo undertaking treatments and presented foods. Similarly wife of Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief cordially met and encouraged patients undertaking treatment in women ward and presented foods.
Later Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met with departmental officials from Bhamo and discussed and suggested on regional development matters, local people doing more in agriculture and livestock works and officials to encourage effective use of available electricity to produce better finished products according to news released by the Office of the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief.
