Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives Royal Thai Army’s Commander-in-Chief General Apirat Kongsompong




Vice-Senior General Soe Win received the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, General Apirat Kongsompong, currently in Nay Pyi Taw at the invitation of the Vice-Senior General, at the Zeyathiri Beikman, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday afternoon.


Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accorded a guard of honour, welcomed General Apirat Kongsompong in front of the Zeyathiri Beikman.

After taking the salute of the Guard of Honour, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and General Apirat Kongsompong inspected the guard, followed by the bilateral introduction of senior military officers of both sides.

The Vice-Senior General then held talks with General Apirat Kongsompong at the Zeyathiri Beikman.

During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to strengthen the long-lasting friendship between the two countries, exchanging information to combat chemicals used in manufacturing drugs along the border area, cooperation in combating human trafficking, security cooperation between the two Tatmadaws and cooperating in training programmes.

In the evening, Vice-Senior Soe Win hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation, according to news released from the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Office.
