The third-day meeting of the 2nd Pyithu Hluttaw’s 11th
regular session was convened yesterday at the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in
Nay Pyi Taw.

During the Hluttaw session, asterisk-marked questions were
asked and answered, a report was read out and a motion was tabled.
▲ Giving land compensation for the land owners ▲
U Aung Sein of Dawei constituency asked the Union Government
if there was a plan to give land compensation for the land owners losing their
plots of land in the Dawei-Myeik railroad track constructions, or to return the
unused land that would not be used as a railroad tracks to the farmland owners.
Regarding this query, Deputy Minister for Transport and
Communications U Kyaw Myo replied that the Ministry of Trans port and
Communications would coordinate with the Thaninthayi Region government to deal
with the issues of land compensation, in accordance with the procedures.
Efforts would be made to transfer of unused land situated in the
Thayatchaung-Thamoat Section to the original owners.
▲ Reducing the port charges as an effort to boost exports ▲
U Aung Kyaw Kyaw Oo of Hline constituency asked the Union
Government that if there was a plan to reduce the port charges at the Yangon
port, as an effort to boost exports. Deputy Minister for Transport and
Communications U Kyaw Myo said that although Myanma Port Authority is duty
bound to earn massive money for the country, efforts were being made to
facilitate the workflow of the exporters and importers while making
arrangements to collect the reasonable prices for them.

Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Nyi Tun, Deputy Minister for
Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Transport
and Communications U Kyaw Myo replied the queries raided by U Thant Zin Tun of
Dekkhinathiri constituency, U Thein Tun of Kyaunggon constituency, Dr. U Aye
Kyu of Labutta constituency and U Wun Hla of Nanyone constituency.
▲ Approved Major Bridge Bill ▲
Then Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat notified that the
Hluttaw had received the approved Major Bridge bill sent by the Amyotha Hluttaw
with amendments. Regarding this bill, Bill committee member U Zaw Win read out
the report of the bill, and the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker announced that
interested Hluttaw representatives should register their names to submit
further amendments.
▲ Reducing rabies infection ▲
Dr. Than Aung Soe of Minhla constituency tabled a motion on
setting up a scheme, in cooperation with departments, local and international
NGOs, to reduce rabies infection that can be transmitted to humans and animals.
Dr. U Min Thein of Ye-U constituency supported the motion. Pyithu Hluttaw
Speaker announced that the Hluttaw was in agreement to accept the motion to
make discussions. Then Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker announced that interested Hluttaw
representatives should register their names to discuss the motion.
The fourth-day meeting of the eleventh regular session of the
Second Pyithu Hluttaw will be held on 25 January.
