Battalion commanders of Myanmar, Bangladesh meet in Maungtaw




A Myanmar-Bangladesh battalion commander-level meeting was held on Tuesday on the Myanmar side at the meeting hall of No.1 entry/exit checkpoint in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State.
Ten attendees from Myanmar led by Provisional Police Lt.Col Nay Myo Thu of No.2 border unit and ten attendees from Bangladesh led by Lt.Col of No.2 border regiment Md Asadud-Zaman Chowdhury attended the meeting. During the meeting, Myanmar border police unit exchanged information on drug seizures and also discussed further cooperation on it. They also discussed to fully cooperate and confirm the information related to movement and activities of ARSA and exchange of the news and information in a timely manner Afterwards, Bangladesh border regiment discussed matters related to border crossing, holding meetings regularly and arrangements to conduct joint patrols.
