Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker, committee chairmen, secretaries hold coordination meeting

Coordination meeting (3/2018) of the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker, committee chairmen and secretaries was held yesterday afternoon at Zabuthiri meeting hall in Hluttaw Building, Nay Pyi Taw.

In his opening speech at the meeting Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat said that difficulties and challenges faced by the committees need to be discussed together, as only then can there be linkages between committees and the work of each committee will be more successful. In this meeting, matters relating to work conducted during the period when the Hluttaw was adjourned and ongoing work need to be reported. The roles of the Hluttaw committees are important as it is the backbone of the Hluttaw. In order to increase the work capacity of the Hluttaw, Hluttaw committees need to work together in unity to move the country, said the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker.

Next, chairmen and secretaries of the Hluttaw committees explained about committee- wise work on bills, complaints, reports, findings, summaries, suggestions and discussions.

After the explanation, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat gave comments detailed instructions to ensure proper coordination on the work being done by the various committees. The meeting then came to a close with a concluding remark by the Speaker.

Present at the meeting together with Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat were Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein, Pyithu Hluttaw committee chairmen, secretaries and officials of the Pyithu Hluttaw office.
