The
Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has advised the people living near the
rivers and in low-lying areas in Hpa-an in Kayin State, Madauk in Bago Region
and in Thabaung, Ayeyawady Region to be alerted to the floods and to keep
informed of rising water in the rivers.
According
to the observation at 1:30pm yesterday, the water level of Ngawun River at
Thabaung has remained at its danger level and the water level is expected to
remain above its danger level the next day.
According
to observations made at 1:30pm yesterday, the water level of the Thanlwin River
has exceeded its danger level by about six feet at Hpaan and it is expected to
fall about one foot over the next two days.
The
water level of the Shwegyin River exceeded over two feet at Shwegyin above its
danger level, according to observations made at 1:30pm yesterday, and it is
expected to fall below its danger level over the next two days.
