Myanmar won
silver and bronze medals yesterday at the 29th SEA Games in men’s billiards and
snooker event, in men’s snooker double event and in women’s karatedo sparring
event, respectively .
Myanmar’s
karatedo athlete May Thu Cho beat Timor Leste at the Conventional Center Hall
(1) in Kuala Lumpur and was awarded the bronze medal. In the final of the men’s
snooker doubles event held at KICC Conventional Center Hall (4) in Kuala Lumpur,
Aung Htay and Minn Si Thu Htun were defeated by the team from Thailand and were
awarded the silver medal. Aung Phyo and Ko Htet from the snooker doubles event
won the bronze medal along with Malaysia’s Moh Keen Hoo. The billiards and
snooker competition consists of three disciplines — pool, snooker and English
billiards. The Karatedo event consists of three elements — kihon (basics), kata
(forms) and kumite (sparring).
Myanmar has
already attained four gold medal, five silver medal and eight bronze medals in
29th SEA Games.
