Rakhine State government
distributed and supplied food and provisions to Arakanese people who fled
recent violence in the area and took refuge in Taung Pyo Let Wae Township in
Rakhine State.

Aung, provisional head of township’s General Administration Department, said
they are supplying rice, cooking oil, beans and salt.
Thirty sacks of
rice, one sack of bean, 50 viss of cooking oil and two sacks of salts were
provided yesterday and more aid is being arranged. On 28 August, the General
Administration Department provided food and provisions to government staff
members in Maungtaw. Buthidaung Township head of GAD and departments of
township also provided rice, oil, salts and beans to displaced Arakanese
people.
