The
Vice President U Myint Swe graced the opening ceremony of Hakha College in Chin
State yesterday. In a speech he gave for students, the Vice President urged
them to participate in the country’s development and transition, by working
together with their teachers and civil society organizations.
Hakha College
will give an opportunity to students in Chin State who want to get a university
degree. Previously, Chin students had to travel to Kalay, Pakkoku and Sagaing
Region for university studies, the Vice President said. After the opening
ceremony, the VP, together with his delegation, which includes the Union
Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, toured around the college building.
After that, the Vice President U Myint Swe visited disaster-stricken Yone
taung, where a landslide occurred in 2015 due to extremely heavy
rainfall.
