Vice-President
of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nan Ni Ni Aye, who is currently in
Nyingchi (Linzhi) in the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of
China to attend the Fifth China-Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International
Cooperation in China’s Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region, met a delegation led
by Mr Wang Junzheng, Party Secretary of the Xizang Autonomous Regional
Committee of the Communist Party of China, at the Nyingchi Rui Crown Hotel
yesterday evening.
Both sides
held cordial and frank discussions on further promoting cooperation between
Myanmar and the Xizang Autonomous Region in the areas of culture, trade,
renewable energy, and investment; enhancing the tourism sector through exchange
visits focused on Buddhist literature and the preservation of historical
heritage; sharing technology in the agricultural and livestock sectors; and
promoting cooperation in traditional medicine and the MSME (Micro, Small, and
Medium Enterprises) sectors.
The meeting
was also attended by deputy ministers U Naing Min Kyaw and Dr Thaung Naing Oo,
along with other officials. Relevant officials also accompanied the party
secretary.
In the
evening, Vice- President Nan Ni Ni Aye, together with heads of state and
delegates from other participating countries, attended the forum welcoming
dinner.
