UEC Chair inspects MEVMs’ maintenance in Mon State

 



Voting machines are important monitoring devices that will also be used in the by-elections and upcoming general elections, said Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe during a meeting with members of the Mon State Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) Supervisory Committee and officials at the Aung San Hall of the Mon State government yesterday.

During the meeting, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Than explained the successful use of voting machines in preparation for the upcoming by-elections and general elections under the supervision of the Mon State MEVM Supervisory Committee. Commission member U Aung Lwin Oo and officials also discussed Myanmar Electronic Voting Machines (MEVMs).

The UEC chairman provided the necessary guidance and instructions. Commission members U Ko Ko Lwin and U Kyi Thein also attended the meeting.

Earlier yesterday, Union Election Commission Chair U Than Soe attended the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) Maintenance Training Course held at Shwe Myine Hall of the Mawlamyine District General Administration Department Office in Mawlamyine. He delivered a speech and presented awards and certificates to the winners.

Afterwards, he met with members and officials of the Kayin State MEVM Voting Machine Supervisory Committee.
