Troops target PDF using schools as bases in Magway Region

 

TATMADAW columns conducted attacks against PDF terrorist groups using schools in villages of Chauk Township, Magway Region, as temporary military bases.

The groups had allegedly threatened teachers and occupied schools, forcing some schools to suspend classes. Since 21 June, Tatmadaw columns have carried out counter-terrorism operations, causing the groups to retreat with casualties and seizing ammunition and equipment.

Authorities said efforts would continue to remove the terrorist groups from schools and reopen schools while ensuring security for students and teachers.
