Quality fire trucks, fuel bowsers and water tankers need boosted production

IT is necessary to carry out continuous research and development to manufacture higher-quality vehicles with advanced technologies that meet international standards, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo on his inspection tour of the Tatmadaw Heavy Industry (Yangon Branch) in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region yesterday morning.

Officials reported to the General on the functions of relevant branches of the industry, production capacity, implementation of assigned duties, capacity of utility vehicles manufactured by the industry, production process, manufacturing of vehicles and parts and research process.

In his response, the General urged officials to strive for manufacturing a larger number of quality vehicles as not only Tatmadaw but ministries use fuel bowsers, water tankers and fire trucks. He stressed the need to coordinate efforts to meet the raw material demands of MSME businesses. He instructed officials to distribute vehicles produced by the industry to regions and states depending on demand.

The General visited the moulding workshop, the bolt and nut workshop, and the tank assembly workshop.

The Defence Services Commander-in-Chief and officials observed the fire trucks, water tankers and fuel bowsers manufactured by the industry and presented cash awards to employees.

Tatmadaw Heavy Industry (Yangon Branch) manufactures 2,800-gallon-capacity fire trucks, 11,000-gallon-capacity fire trucks, 2,200-gallon-capacity water tankers, 4,200-gallon-capacity fuel bowsers and 2,200-gallon-capacity fuel bowsers being distributed to Tatmadaw, ministries and relevant governments of regions and states.
