Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint delivered construction materials to residents of Falam Township, Chin State, to support the repair and reconstruction of houses damaged during violent incidents.
Accompanied by members
of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, the deputy
minister inspected the arrival and temporary storage of government-supplied
materials and instructed officials to ensure proper storage, prevent wastage,
assess actual needs and distribute the supplies promptly.
Construction materials,
including cement, roofing sheets and roofing nails, were handed over to
affected households. The deputy minister also inspected repairs to houses that
were completely, partially, or slightly damaged, being carried out jointly by security
personnel, police, firefighters, departmental officials, and residents.
Assistance for damaged
houses in Tlanlo, Vualai and Cinmual wards included 100 bags of cement, 520 CI
sheets and roofing nails for 21 houses. A further 165 CI sheets were provided
for Falam Township Police buildings, Basic Education High School No 2 and residents’
homes. Additional assistance will continue for damaged buildings and houses.
