9th 47-member SSMNC holds first-day session of 5th meeting

 

THE first-day session of the fifth plenary meeting of the Ninth 47-Member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee was administered at the Wizaya Mingala Dhamma Thabin Hall on the Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yesterday.

Present at the occasion were members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Monastery, Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Agga Maha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin and other relevant officials.

The Union minister offered the Dhamma Cakka Mahatika and the book on belle-letter about Buddha’s residing donated by the President and family to Sayadaws.

Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin reported on religious affairs-related matters.

Afterwards, Sayadaws reported on Vinicchaya, religious affairs and educational matters. Sayadaws discussed Vinicchaya affairs and concluded the first session.

The Vinicchaya affairs and religious-related matters were discussed by the Sayadaws at the second session at 1 pm. Senior General Than Shwe (Rtd) and his wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing donated alms to the Sayadaws.
