Myanmar welcomes investment interest in smart meter technology cooperation with Russia

The delegation led by Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, currently on a visit to the Russian Federation, yesterday afternoon visited the smart meter manufacturing factory of Telematic Solution Co Ltd in Moscow, where officials explained the factory’s production processes.

In response to the briefings, the Union minister said he welcomed their interest in investing in the integration and upgrading of Myanmar’s existing system with Russia’s advanced proprietary smart meter technology, and expressed a desire to pursue technical cooperation.

In the afternoon, officials from Inter Rao Co Ltd called on the Union minister and presented processes for rehabilitating and improving the efficiency of gas-fired power generation turbines. In response, the Union minister invited them to conduct a study visit to explore cooperation in turbine repair, efficiency enhancement, and technology acquisition, with the aim of reducing natural gas wastage, according to reports.
