At the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping, a Myanmar high-level delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing left Tatmadaw Airport in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday on a special aircraft to pay a State visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The President and delegation were
seen off at the airport by Vice-President U Nyo Saw, Vice-President Nan Ni Ni
Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe,
Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, the
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, and
officials of the embassy and the military attaché’s
office of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar.
The President was accompanied by
Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr
Charlie Than and U Tun Ohn, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Shan
State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office
of the Commander-in-Chief and deputy ministers.
The special aircraft carrying the
high-level Myanmar delegation arrived at the Capital Airport in Beijing at
about 2:30 pm local standard time. The delegation was warmly welcomed by
officials of the Chinese government led by Minister of Transport Mr Liu Wei of
the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia,
Myanmar Ambassador to China U Zaw Win Myint, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen
Zaw Zaw Naing and officials.
In accordance with the traditional
protocol of the honour guard of the People’s Republic of China for welcoming
and paying tribute to heads of state visiting on a State Visit, the honour
guards took their positions and saluted on both sides of the red carpet, while
a Chinese child and a Myanmar child presented bouquets to welcome the
delegation led by the President.
The special motorcade carrying the
President continued its journey to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, and along
the route, the national flags of the two countries were displayed, with warm
and enthusiastic welcomes seen along the way.
During the visit, the President
will hold talks with the Chinese President and conduct bilateral discussions,
as well as meet the Premier of China and the Chairman of the Standing Committee
of the National People’s Congress. In addition, the President will receive
provincial leaders and representatives from business organizations, attend an
economic conference, and visit advanced high-tech industrial enterprises.
Moreover, the President will engage in cordial and open exchanges of views on
matters aimed at further strengthening the existing Pauk-Phaw relations between
Myanmar and China, as well as enhancing cooperation between the two governments
and peoples in various sectors, including economic and security affairs.
