UNION Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung received BIMSTEC Secretary-General Mr Indra Mani Pandey at the Union Minister’s guest room in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they held a cordial and open discussion on Myanmar’s activities as the lead country in the agriculture and food security sector under BIMSTEC cooperation, as well as accelerating regional cooperation with greater emphasis on food security among BIMSTEC member states. They also discussed the implementation of work plans already drawn up for BIMSTEC agriculture and livestock cooperation, systematic monitoring of progress, and the strengthening of information and technology exchange among member countries, including cooperation in research, technology transfer, capacity building, trade, and investment.
