Minister of External Affairs of India Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, currently in New Delhi, India, on an official visit, yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on the progress of friendly ties and cooperation between Myanmar and India, and the further promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
They also discussed holding the multiparty democratic general election in Myanmar, development projects, trade, defence, security, development and border peace and stability measures.
Furthermore, they emphasized the promotion of cooperation in multi-sectors between the two countries.
Also, present at the meeting were Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi and U Tin Maung Swe, officials and the Myanmar Ambassador to India. The Indian Minister of External Affairs was accompanied by Ambassador of India to Myanmar, Shri Abhay Thakur, and officials.
