The 2026 Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan will be held in Nay Pyi Taw Square.
This year’s Walking Thingyan will be hosted in Nay Pyi Taw Square as the first national-level event of the new government.
This year’s Thingyan festival will be more than just a fun event, but a grand festival where the government, Hluttaw representatives, service personnel, and the public will join together to celebrate with a new spirit, a new goal and new political landscape.
In the Walking Thingyan Festival, staff and the public will celebrate peaceful and happy experiences of Myanmar’s traditional culture and customs, including Thingyan pavilion zones, entertainment zones, Thanaka Thingyan zones, Myanmar Tea and traditional Htamane receptions in various zones.
In addition to the entertainment programmes of famous singers, there will be many other programmes that will highlight the traditional Thingyan festival. Staff from Ministries and organizations will also participate in the walking Thingyan.
Then, walking Thingyan festivals will be held across the country, and it is known that separate train tickets will be arranged for the artistes to travel to be involved in entertainment programmes throughout the country, including Nay Pyi Taw.
