Union Minister meets cabinet members of Chin State government, departmental staff

State Security and Peace Commission Member and Union Minister for Border Affairs and for Ethnic Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae met cabinet members of the Chin State government and departmental staff at the meeting hall of the General Administrative Department of the Chin State government in Haka Township yesterday.

Speaking at the occasion, the Union minister said it has been observed that civil servants serving in Chin State face certain challenges compared to those serving in other regions and states. The government staff have a responsibility to carry out their duties professionally. The Civil Service Personnel Law states that civil servants must be free from party politics. Regardless of which government assumes office, the civil servants are accountable to the State and must perform their duties by cooperating with their respective ministries, referencing the law and rules enacted by the government.

Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong Hsun Thang and township department heads briefed the regional development programmes.

Union Minister for Ministry 3 of the President’s Office U Maung Maung Tint, Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Tin Htut and Deputy Minister for Health Dr Aye Tun coordinated the discussion, and Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae concluded the meeting.
