At the invitation of the National Security Adviser and Union Minister for the Ministry 1 of the President’s Office, U Tin Aung San, a delegation led by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Mr Sergei Shoigu, who is currently in Myanmar, visited the Memorial to Fallen Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw) yesterday morning to lay wreaths and pay tribute to the heroes.
First,
members of the delegation led by the Secretary of the Security Council took
their seats inside the Memorial to Fallen Heroes, laid wreaths, paid tribute to
the heroes, and signed the visitors’ book.
Afterwards,
the delegation took a commemorative photograph at the Memorial to Fallen Heroes
(Nay Pyi Taw) and toured the site.
Yesterday
morning, Director-General U San Win Htun of the Department of Information
Technology and Cybersecurity and Director-General U Thein Swe of the Customs
Department met the team led by Mr Nikolai Prnishnikov of the Russian Astra
Group. Separately, Director-General U Ye Naing of Myanmar Radio and Television
(MRTV) met the team led by Ms Lyudmila Katsuro of the Russian Department of
Media and Communications Development and International Cooperation at Jasmine
Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the
afternoon, the delegation led by Mr Sergei Shoigu departed from Nay Pyi Taw
Airport. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw, officials from the
Ministry 1 of the President’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and
the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar saw them off at the
airport.
