79th Union Day celebrated across regions and states

Ceremonies commemorating the 79th Anniversary of Union Day were wonderfully held yesterday across the regions, states and self-administered division/zones of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Chief ministers of the regions and states, commanders of the respective commands, departmental officials, representatives of social organizations, teachers, students and residents attended the events.

At the ceremonies, attendees saluted the State Flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and paid tribute to fallen national leaders and comrades. The Chief Ministers read out the Union Day message sent by the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.
To mark the occasion, opening ceremonies were held for commemorative signboards, MSME products exhibition and market fairs, food and agricultural produce displays, and sports competitions. Chief Ministers, commanders and officials formally inaugurated the events and toured the knowledge-sharing booths and private exhibition stands together with attendees.

Officials presented honorary awards and cash prizes to departmental staff and students who were winners in the commemorative contests and sporting events. Guests were served traditional ethnic cuisines.

In the evening, the regions, states and self-administered regions organized celebratory activities, including illuminations and fireworks displays.
