The Ministry of Health has announced that 1,520 newly graduated nurses and 361 newly graduated midwives were appointed as civil servants in 2025.
Appointment
letters were presented on 22 December to the new nurses completing the
three-year nursing diploma course and the new midwives completing the two-year
midwifery diploma course.
During
the ceremony, the Union minister stated that when providing healthcare to the
public, staff must not only be qualified and competent but must also strictly
adhere to professional ethics, urging them to become dedicated professionals
who can skilfully care for the public and to maintain a friendly manner when
interacting with patients.
Furthermore,
the chairperson of the Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council addressed the
graduates, advising them to comply with civil service rules and the specific
rules and regulations of their respective hospitals while providing patient
care in accordance with the eight-point nursing vow.
The
Ministry of Health also noted that an additional 1,762 nurses are scheduled to
be appointed in February and May of 2026.
