MoHA Union Minister receives Chinese Assistant Minister of Public Security

Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung meets the Chinese delegation led by Mr Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of Public Security of PRC.

Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung received a Chinese delegation led by Mr Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

At the meeting, both sides cordially discussed the matters on cooperation in combatting online scams, rejecting foreign interference under the pretext of the online scam issue, China’s support for the activities of the Central Supervisory Committee on Combatting Telecom Fraud and Online Gambling and further cooperation work plans.

The Chinese delegation also discussed with the Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Kyaw Kyaw regarding security and rule of law measures between Myanmar and China, combatting online scams and online gambling in border areas, search and transfer of Chinese nationals in accordance with the procedures and MoU (draft) between Muse-Dehong district level police forces.

The Myanmar and Chinese delegations will make a field trip to Myawady to observe the measures to tackle online scams.
