A Myanmar delegation, led by Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Aung Myaing, departed Yangon for Moscow, Russia, on 14 September to attend the 2nd International Technology Congress (ITC). The delegation returned to Yangon on the evening of 20 September.
The
ITC was held over three days at the Patriot Expo in Moscow, Russia. The event
featured plenary sessions, thematic technical forums, and demonstration
sessions showcasing new technologies. Major Russian technology companies also
set up booths during the event.
The
International Plenary Session of the 2nd ITC was held at 12:00 noon on 16
September under the theme “Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Digital
Compass”. During the session, the deputy minister delivered the opening speech
on the topic “Partner Dialogue: Course Towards Trusted Technologies”.
The
2nd ITC’s International Cooperation for the Development of Next-Generation
Industrial Automation Systems Forum was held at 12:00 noon on 17 September. The
deputy minister delivered a speech titled “Supporting the Development of
Automation Systems That Operate Without Human Supervision in Industrial
Sectors”.
The deputy minister delivered a speech at the Second International Plenary
Session of the 2nd ITC, held on 18 September under the theme “The Role of New
Technologies in Improving Workers’ Productivity”. During the meetings, the
deputy minister discussed several key issues, including ensuring the inclusive
use of trusted technologies by all SCO and partner countries, including
Myanmar; cooperation in improving cybersecurity; and overcoming challenges in
developing industrial automation in an inclusive manner. He also addressed the
status of Myanmar’s ongoing collaboration with the international community,
including the SCO, for the development of digital technology and the digital
economy.
The
Myanmar delegation, attending the 2nd ITC, also participated in the
Russia-ASEAN Technology Cooperation Forum held on 17 September and discussed,
on behalf of ASEAN countries, the possibilities for further cooperation between
ASEAN and Russia in the fields of digital economy, cybersecurity, satellite
communications, e-commerce, and IT equipment and software manufacturing.
The
delegation, led by the deputy minister, toured the exhibits at the 2nd ITC,
organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and discussed the
presentations given by relevant officials.
This
year’s International Technology Congress was attended by more than 400
delegates from over 20 countries, including SCO and ASEAN member states.
