DUE to the Mandalay earthquake that struck on 28 March 2025, damage was reported in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Shan State, and Bago Region. Domestic and international donors and philanthropists have provided humanitarian assistance, including essential supplies and medicines, and an official announcement regarding these support activities from 4 to 10 June was released on 10 June.
During the two weeks
from 11 to 23 June, the tents, sleeping bags, food, commodities and household
utensil donated by China, Singapore Lotus Light Charity Society, Singapore
Buddha Dhamma Mandala Society and Love and Care Charity Groups and donors from
Thailand were distributed to Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region and
Shan State depending on the numbers of quake survivors.
To date, 66 vehicles loaded with relief
materials have been distributed to Mandalay Region, while 33 to Sagaing Region
and 13 to Shan State (South), totalling 112 vehicles with about 2,435 tonnes of
load.
The distribution
processes will be released once every two weeks.
