Myanmar hands over ASEAN Committee chairmanship to the Philippines

ACCORDING to the Min­istry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar handed over the Chairmanship of the ASE­AN Committee in Beijing (ACB) to the Philippines on 18 July at the Intercon­tinental Beijing Sanlitun Hotel in Beijing.

ACCORDING to the Min­istry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar handed over the Chairmanship of the ASE­AN Committee in Beijing (ACB) to the Philippines on 18 July at the Intercon­tinental Beijing Sanlitun Hotel in Beijing.

During the meeting, ASEAN state ambassa­dors and representatives approved the summary record of the ACB meet­ing hosted by Malaysia on 8 February 2024. They also discussed development in ASEAN-China dialogue re­lations. Additionally, repre­sentatives from respective ASEAN countries briefly reviewed the progress in bilateral relations with Chi­na over the past six months and exchanged views on re­gional developments. The Chairmanship of the ACB was then officially handed over to Jaime A FlorCruz for the term from July to December 2024.
