Tatmadaw primarily serves State defence duty with combat power and capability

 


Tatmadaw has to serve State defence duty and enhance itself to have combat power and combat capability, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met Tatmadaw members and families from Kengtung Station at the hall of Triangle Region Command Headquarters yesterday afternoon.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General stressed local military units need to take security measures in relevant areas and carry out regional control measures with preparations based on farsightedness.

He urged all to train all individual Tatmadaw members to be fit for the fight.

The Senior General underscored that leaders of relevant military units have to create good environments for Tatmadaw members and families and manage a fair administration for all.

Moreover, he continued that Tatmadaw is providing the deserved awards and welfare measures for Tatmadaw members and families from the military units, which are serving security and defence duties due to the current situation of the nation. As such, officials have to manage welfare tasks for Tatmadaw members and families systematically, he added.

He urged all to successfully carry out military-owned and manageable-scale agriculture and livestock farming tasks.

With regard to the education sector, the Senior General said that as Tatmadaw is fulfilling the needs of students from Tatmadaw families to improve their education qualification, parents need to emphasize the education of their children.

The Senior General highlighted that students need to read knowledgeable books in addition to subjects of school textbooks, and parents should encourage their offspring to improve their reading habits.

Also present at the meeting were Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Zwe Win Myint and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives.

The Senior General presented foodstuffs to Tatmadaw members and families of Kengtung Station through the commander, whereas the wife of the Senior General gave a cash award to the station Maternal and Child Welfare Association through the wife of the commander.

The Senior General inspected the progress of agriculture and livestock breeding farms at the command headquarters. The commander reported on the cultivation of paddy, maize, sunflower and tissue-cultured banana, the breeding of cattle, chicken and ducks, free distribution of meat, fish, milk, eggs and vegetables to military families and departmental personnel, and sales of these goods to people at reduced prices.

After hearing the reports, the Senior General instructed officials to boost the per-acre yield of paddy and maize and viewed round agriculture and livestock products of the farming zone of the command headquarters.
