AA terrorists launched heavy weapon shells in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, at around 5:30 pm on 17 April, the first day of the Myanmar New Year, traditionally a time when Buddhist people observe the Sabbath, engage in acts of kindness, and perform charitable deeds. AA terrorists fired from the northeast of the town. shells struck and detonated in No 2 Ward, resulting in the deaths of four civilians, including one male and three females, and injuring eight others, including a 12-year-old child. Security forces transported the injured individuals to the local military hospital for medical treatment.
The deliberate targeting of
non-military areas by AA terrorists constitutes a violation of the Geneva
Convention and qualifies as a war crime.
As a result, the security forces have
intensified security measures and investigations to apprehend these terrorists.
It is deeply reprehensible that AA terrorists are senselessly killing innocent
civilians under the guise of regional interests.
