A workshop on Myanmar’s agriproducts access to the Japanese market was held yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.
It was organized by the Myanmar
Trade Promotion Organization of the Ministry of Commerce with the support of
the ASEAN-Japan Centre.
Permanent Secretary U Min Min gave
an opening speech and Dr Yuka Kubota, senior executive officer, on behalf of
the secretary-general of the ASEAN-Japan Centre, greeted the workshop. The
director-general and the director of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization
explained the objectives of the project implementation and the holding of the
workshop.
Officials discussed potential
agricultural products to be exported to the Japanese market. They viewed the
booths where eggs, ginger, traditional medicines, vegetables and sesame were
displayed. Representatives who grow, produce and export agricultural products
to the Japanese market then put forward their experiences and answered the
questions raised by attendees. They also discussed the advantages and
disadvantages of entering the Japanese market.
