New Year wishes of State Administration Council members

U Thein Nyunt (SAC member)

All esteemed national brethren, we have already seen the destructive elements of the terrorists (CRPHNUG-PDF) that committed murders and robberies and their supporters, insurgents in Myanmar.

Behind them are the modern and old imperialist groups who want to encroach on Myanmar’s sovereignty and their allies who want to influence supporting political and military assistance.

There is potential pressure on the economic sector which will lead t the collapse of Myanmar’s economy in 2023. We should not underestimate their danger. However, the internal and external destructive elements must be destroyed in Myanmar which can maintain its independence for 75 years.

Despite the different challenges today, the Tatmadaw, political groups and the ethnic people are fighting against the enemies under the leadership of the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

I welcome the New Year 2023 saying the further of Myanmar will be successful for the national unity that stands on the side of justice.

U Khin Maung Swe (SAC member)

All esteemed national brethren, I extend my wishes for your peace. We all expect the country would be peaceful and prosperous during the new year. If we want such hope, we need to go towards the democracy era.

Democracy can be established only by the election and if we want to grab a nation ruled by civilians, ethnic organizations and political parties the public should participate in holding a clean, free and fair election.

The socioeconomic insecurity and instability people face and the external interference emerge as the reason that the country lacks a government elected by the public. However, we can change into a new era just with the power of the public. We cannot do so without the desire of the public. If we want a switch to the public administrative system, there is no other option than the election.

It is time to transfer the public authority without any serious cases in Myanmar. Therefore, if we are asked if democracy could be demanded with guns, the answer is No. It is impossible to solve Myanmar’s political issues by the election, some guess. However, after the election, there will be Hluttaw politics and the public can represent at Hluttaw to resolve something following people's desires. May I conclude my new year wish by urging the people to participate in holding the election. Thank you.
