A Myanmar delegation led by Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar attended the 50th Board of Directors’ Meeting of the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) held on 12 and 13 May in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by
delegates from nine ACU member countries: India, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka,
Bangla desh, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan and the Maldives.
The meeting focused on the economic
development and prospects of the ACU member countries, ACU activities and
achievements during the fiscal year 2020, recommendations from the ACU Expert
Committee on improving transnational payments innovation, issues related to the
implementation of local currency payments among the ACU countries and the
strengthening of the ACU system.
The Myanmar delegation returned
home on the afternoon of 14 May.
