THAI authorities have arrested 130 Myanmar nationals for illegally entering Thailand, according to their announcement.
During the three-day period from 12
to 15 May, 130 illegal Myanmar migrant workers were arrested in Mae Sot and Pho
Pha of Thailand.
On the night of 12 May, 17 people
from Kawthoung were arrested by the Thai navy when they arrived in Thai waters
by boat on their way to Ranong.
Similarly, 43 Myanmar nationals
were arrested on the morning of 15 May after crossing the Mae Sot River and 70
Myanmar nationals were also detained while they were waiting for a car to pick
them up in Pho Pha Township, Thailand.
The Myanmar nationals had to pay 27,000 baht
each to the intermediary to enter Thailand illegally and travel to Bangkok.
