THE Ministry of Commerce is working hard to ensure people have access to essential medical supplies which are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging the continuous importation by airways, sea and border trade points.
Yesterday, three vehicle containing
20 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 480 oxygen containers, 2 oxygen plants, 2 oxygen
generators, were imported through Chinshwehaw and Myawady border trade points,
and Yangon International Airport. One vehicle containing the liquid oxygen was
transported to Yangon from Myawady, and two oxygen plants were sent to Loikaw
from Chinshwehaw.
Between 1 and 16 October, 233
tonnes of liquid oxygen, 2 liquid oxygen containers, 3 xygen distributors,
14,201 oxygen cylinders, 36 oxygen plants, 6 oxygen refills, 8 oxygen
generators, 1,699 oxygen concentrators, 150,000 test kits, 86,475 PPE suits, 59
tonnes of gloves, and 432 tonnes of masks were imported.
It is reported that the Ministry of
Commerce is giving priority to the import of essential medical supplies
required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 accordingly with the
SOPs coordinated with the relevant departments in order to avoid delays, and
announcements and notices related to the import of medicines and related
products have also been made available to the public on the Ministry’s website,
commerce. gov.
