THE Myanmar Tank Squad taking part in the Tank Biathlon (Division-2) of the International Army Games-2021 launched in the Russian Federation on 22 August deservedly cruised into the final stage with standing at the second position in the group by passing the different group events.
The
Myanmar team competed in the individual race together with Mali, Kyrgyzstan and
Laos in the group event. Myanmar fighter vehicle team1 stood first in the event
by setting the record of 28 minutes and 57 seconds on 22 August, the team-2
second with 26 minutes and 47 seconds on 25 August and the team-3 second with
30 minutes and 45 seconds on 27 August. These three teams took the second
position with the records of 86 minutes and 29 seconds among eight teams of
group-2. Hence, Myanmar Tank Squad could reach the semifinals together with
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Laos and South Ossetia.
In
the semifinal event, Myanmar Tank Squad had to choose the draw lot for taking part
in the events of relay race, firing 125mm artillery, 12.7mm anti-aircraft
machine gun and 7.62mm machine gun on the respective way.
The
second semifinal was held yesterday. Despite the out of order of arm system at
the tank and bad weather, members of the Myanmar Tank Squad relentlessly
participated in the event and stood first in the semifinal-2 event of
Division-2 with setting the record of 2 hours, 28 minutes and 20 seconds. The
team could stand the second position in Division-2 with the best shot
capability.
The
Tank Biathlon (Division-2) will take place on 3 September with the
participation of Myanmar, Kyrgyzstan, South Ossetia and Tajikistan.
Members
of the Myanmar Tank Squad are participating in the Tank Biathlon of the
International Army Games for the fourth time, including this year, with
strenuous efforts to have the experiences of competition, technologies and
friendships among the international military organizations.
