Her Excellency Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, who was on a State Visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the invitation of President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Win Myint was welcomed with a ceremony held in front of the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal President Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari was cordially greeted by President U Win Myint upon arrival at the Presidential Palace.
Next President U Win Myint and President Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari took the salute of the guard of honor before they inspected it and introduce the members of their respective delegations.
After the welcoming ceremony Nepal President Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari signed the visitors’ book and then the two presidents posed for documentary photos
Afterwards the two presidents met in the Credentials Hall. During the meeting of the two presidents, they cordially discussed and exchanged views on increasing and strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation, increasing trade and investment sectors, commemorating 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relation between Myanmar and Nepal, promoting travel sector, holding culture exchange events, developing travel sector in 2020 that was designated as Visit Nepal Year, raising contact and understanding between the peoples of the two countries, continuing cooperation in the regional and international arena and reducing the effect of climate change.
At the meeting President U Win Myint was accompanied by Union Ministers Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, U Kyaw Tint Swe, U Min Thu, Thura U Aung Ko, Dr Than Myint, U Thaung Tun and U Kyaw Tin, Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal Thiri Pyanchi U Tun Nay Lin and officials while Nepali President Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari and party was accompanied by Nepali Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Bhim Krishna Udas.
