Myanmar, Nepal sign MoUs to promote culture and tourism cooperation




State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi received the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Mrs Bidya Devi Bhandari, at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

At the meeting, they discussed about promotion of friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries, promoting cooperation in the tourism and culture sectors, cooperation between the two countries in the international arena, establishment of the communications sector, cooperation in the exchange of information, participation of Myanmar senior officials in the Climate Change conference to be held in Nepal in 2020, organization of events in Nepal next year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by Union Ministers U Kyaw Tint Swe, U Min Thu, Thura U Aung Ko and U Kyaw Tin; Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal Thiripyanchi U Tun Nay Lin, members of the Nepali presidential delegation, the Nepali Ambassador Mr Bhim Krishna Udas and senior officials.
After the call, the State Counsellor and the Nepali President witnessed the signing of MoUs by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko and the Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal Mr Pradeep Kumar Gyawali for cooperation in culture and tourism sectors.
