Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu attends opening ceremony of Bagan Luyechun Camp



AN opening ceremony of the Bagan Luyechun Vacation Camp was held at the Royal Emerald River View Resort Hotel, Bagan yesterday morning. First, the three Luyechun students (all round outstanding students) cut the ceremonial ribbon for opening the archway of the camp.

In his opening speech at the event, Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu said that the first need for youth is to expand a range of knowledge and wisdom with self-efforts, and the fundamental points included straightforwardness, discipline and having due regards for others.
In addition to this, it was needed to possess rational and logical thinking skills besides acquiring intelligence while reading newspapers to keep abreast with the times.
Then Mandalay Region Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Soe Than gave a welcome remark and presented the brooches to the Luyechun Students in Grade 7 Next, Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu, ministers of the states and regions, Hluttaw representatives, chair of the educational promotion committee, camp-in-charge officers, supervising teachers and Luyechun students posed for commemorative photographs together.
Following the opening ceremony, the Luyechun students paid a visit to the famous pagodas, including the Shwezigon, the Dhammayangyi, the Sulamani, the Thatbyinnyu, the Bu, the Katawpalin Temple, the Myazedi Stone Inscription and the Lawkananda pagodas.
