Nay Pyi Taw commemorates 73rd National Fire Service Day



THE Nay Pyi Taw Council Fire Brigade celebrated the 73rd National Fire Service Day at the premises of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Attending the ceremony were Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr. Myo Aung and wife Daw Khin Saw Mu, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Maj-Gen Myint Maw, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Hluttaw representatives, department officials from the subnational level, firefighters and other officials.

Firstly, attendees saluted the State Flag and the fallen firefighters, and then recited the four oaths.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair then delivered a speech.

Next, the firefighters demonstrated how extinguish a fire at a gas station and how to save people trapped in vehicles in a car accident and extinguishing the flames. The Hazmat Vehicle Respond Team demonstrated how to reduce danger at a leakage of sulfuric acid, the CBRNE rescue procedure, and then sprayed coloured water.

The ceremony then began the awarding event with Dr. Myo Aung conferring cash prizes and honorary certificates to the male firefighters who took part in the parade and demonstrations, Daw Khin Saw Mu conferring the awards on the female firefighters participants, and Maj-Gen Myint Maw conferring awards on reserve firefighters with over 25 years of service and those who have received the Model Civil Servant Award.

Afterwards, Dr. Myo Aung and his wife, Maj-Gen Myint Maw and officials observed the exhibits on display.
